Your Support is Appreciated

Your support has gone a long way in the Coalition achieving results.

Thanks to the support of countless volunteers and committed activists of the ORANGE Coalition, on May 18th the Scottsdale City Council directed city staff to prepare ballot language on the private property rights amendment of the City Charter.  Based on our efforts, on November 2nd the voters of Scottsdale will have an opportunity to change the City Charter to limit the power of condemnation – further protecting private property owners in the City of Scottsdale.

Opponents of property rights are ready to mount a campaign against our constitutional right to protect our property.  Please share this site with your friends and ask them to sign up to support the ORANGE Coalition.  Consider making a donation to the ORANGE Coalition, get involved with the campaign, and follow us on Facebook and Twitter to make a difference.

Throughout Arizona, property rights are under attack.

  • A Benson, AZ homeowner bought their house a few years ago. ADOT contacted them recently indicating they were coming in to take portions of their land.  They live off the frontage road along I-10 in Benson
  • Owners of King’s World of Marble were ordered to give up their property near 44th and Washington Streets to make way for Sky Harbor Airport’s new SKY Train project.  After battling with the City, a hunger strike, and rooftop pleas to Senator John McCain, a judge has ordered the pair to relocate immediately.
  • A business owner, Miriam Hayenga, maintained the City of Phoenix, which promised her repeatedly that she had the right to build 120 hotel units at the Pointe Tapatio, only to renege when she closed on the land in question and got ready to build.  After years of fighting the City of Phoenix, and spending approximately a quarter of a million dollars of her own money, the city settled and awarded her $2.5 million.

You can help prevent these abuses from happening In Arizona today!  Take action when you are needed and visit us often to stay informed.
